Lorenzo’s practice focuses primarily on international commercial and construction arbitration. Lorenzo has been involved as counsel in international arbitration disputes related to a variety of sectors, including EPC/construction contracts, FIDIC contracts, steel industry, M&A, telecommunications and agency agreements.

Recently, Lorenzo successfully represented Italian clients against African State entities in construction arbitrations concerning contracts financed by the European Development Fund; and an Italian multinational telecommunications company in a post M&A dispute against a Brazilian entity.

Lorenzo also gained substantive experience in litigation proceedings before Italian courts, with particular reference to contractual liability claims, corporate directors’ liability cases, as well as commercial and competition law disputes. He also assists clients in proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights.

In addition to his work as counsel, Lorenzo regularly acts as administrative secretary or assistant to arbitral tribunals in arbitration proceedings administered under different rules (ICC, UNCITRAL and Milan Chamber of Arbitration) and subject to a wide range of substantive and procedural laws (Italian, English, French, Spanish and Uruguayan laws).

Lorenzo graduated summa cum laude in 2014 from the Law School of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan with a dissertation on “International Commercial Arbitration and EU Merger Control” which sought to analyse the interplay between EU competition law and arbitration as a mechanism to monitor the correct implementation of ‘behavioural’ merger commitments.

During university, Lorenzo was a member and one of the oralists of his team at the Twenty-first Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (2014). In 2013 he attended the London School of Economics and Political Science Summer Course in Competition Law.

Prior to joining ARBLIT, Lorenzo worked at Studio Legale Iannucci-Caramella, a leading commercial law firm in Florence.

A qualified attorney in Italy, Lorenzo speaks English and French fluently.
